Based on the novel of the same name, this film follows the sudden disappearance of Anna Lou, a sixteen-year-old girl from a small mountain village in the Italian Alps. Called to investigate the mystery is Detective Vogel, who soon realizes that this case is far from simple. Working against the clock and amidst an unprecedented media frenzy, Vogel must make use of his unconventional methods to uncover the truth, in a town where motives are obscure, facts are distorted, and everyone is a suspect.
