Lewis Cole, former Dept. of Defense employee, now a magazine writer in the small resort town of Tyler Beach, N.H., is preparing to quietly ride out the madness of a presidential primary, but when he is arrested for shooting at one of the leading candidates, he finds himself embroiled in a chilling and personally dangerous investigation.
