Still on the run from the Queen's Dragons, Dessa, Topper, and Fisk are heading west in search of Greyfalcon when they stumble across a kidnapping in progress and perform a daring rescue. The victim turns out to be the crown prince of Medoria, who becomes quite devoted to Dessa and promises to help her on her quest.
