The horseman's graves
The Schoffs, who are German immigrants living in a community on the Saskatchewan-Alberta border, are devastated by the farm accident that has scarred their only son. Meanwhile, Lathias, the Mťis farmhand, becomes guardian to the boy and both boys are ultimately drawn to the mysterious Elisabeth.
