A retired film star has settled down in a village in California, and opened a pet-friendly inn. As the town gathers to honor her and celebrate her old films, she is brutally murdered. First on the scene is a tortoiseshell cat named Kit, whose feline sleuth friends, Joe Grey and Dulcie, are soon on the case.
