In a post-apocalyptic future, Deuce, who was respected as a huntress and a useful member of her enclave when she lived down below, has moved topside to a community where she's considered an ignorant child. Confused and lonely, she hopes for a chance to serve in the summer patrols, protecting the fields from Freak attacks.
