Lonely boys

It's about growing up and becoming an adult. It's about friendships past and present, broken hearts and one night stands, roommates who spend way too much time in the bathtub and the next-door neighbor who's kind of cute. But mostly, it's the story about three young women trying to make sense of their lives, the little boys who make a mess of it and the fact that it's not the end of the world anyway. Little Boys, Sophie Bédard's follow-up to her breakthrough series Almost Summer, is a much more mature and self-assured graphic novel set in the Montréal neighborhood of Villeray about a group of friends in their early twenties. Both funny and poignant, crude and insightful, it manages to capture life as it is -- blending witty comedy and astute drama with an almost documentary-like sense of naturalism.
